All registered midwives are free to BC residents.
Midwives are primary care providers during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum. This means that they can order tests like blood work and ultrasounds, make assessments, prescribe drugs, and manage care.
Midwives are based on a model of informed choice. Long visits and rich discussions build relationships between our midwives and our families.
Midwives recognize the enormity of pregnancy, birth, and healing after baby. They respect the individual needs of each person in care. They care deeply for their clientele.
Call, email, or message today if you would like to hear more from one of the midwives about what midwifery care is and whether it could be right for you.

Starting in August 2020, the Cariboo Midwives will be offering all Williams Lake residents after-baby care (AKA postpartum care). This is a service that is covered by MSP to BC residents.
Did you know, even if you already have a care provider for the birth, you can access individualized midwifery postpartum care that is paid for by Medical Services BC and free of charge to you?
Our midwives will come see you in the comfort of your own home within 3 days of you giving birth.
They will offer assessment and support of your chosen feeding method, discuss newborn care and sleep, monitor your baby’s growth and weight, and check on your health and healing following your birth.
The midwives will care for you with regularly scheduled appointments until your baby is about 6 weeks old.
